Strategic Thinking Club

Welcome:

Welcome to the homepage for the Strategic Thinking Club at BCTHS. This is a page to receive information about the club including meeting dates, instructional videos for games we have learned, club rules and other important information. The club will introduce and new spotlight game every two weeks and we will take time learning and playing it. The rest of the time will be spent playing games with friends in a competitive safe environment.

Every Tuesday and Thursday in C103 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm when Activity Buses are running at BCTHS.

Club Rules

Rule #1: Play the games in a way so that everyone has fun – This involves knowing and following the rules, Staying focused on the game, playing at an appropriate volume level, showing good sportsmanship and making consensus decisions on the games that are played.

Rule #2: Treat the game materials with the utmost respect – This means only using the game pieces for playing the game, no food or drink on the game table, treating materials carefully, making sure all players clean up and all pieces are put away the way that they are found.

Rule #3: Mr. Theis has final say on all rule interpretations with no arguments. If you want to discuss a rule please see Mr. Theis after your game is over and not during.

Rule #4: Club members may bring in game from home to share with the club, however final approval of games will rest with Mr. Theis. No video games (PC, mac, console, handheld, web based or mobile) are permitted.

Failure to follow these rules will result in dismissal from the club and students forfeit their right to reinstatement.

Below is the BCTHS Strategic Thinking Game Library. It lists the games that are available to students , the number of copies and links to videos that teach you how to play each game . (when available). We are constantly updating our Game Library and any suggestions should be sent to jtheis@bcths.com
