Sarah Epting
Hello! My name is Sarah Epting, and I am the teacher and director of WBHS Theatre Arts and Drama Club. I began working with Brunswick County Schools in January of 2023. While I am relatively new to secondary education, having made the transition from working in professional theatre, I have experience in educational settings since 2009.Â
I graduated in 2008 from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Theatre Performance and Costume Design and Production. (Roll Tide!) I began working in costumes for summer-stock theatre before graduation, and continued working in costuming for professional theatre until I had my daughter in 2016. Some of my notable credits include Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, University of Central Missouri, Stagedoor Manor, UNC Chapel Hill, and PlayMakers Repertory Company. (I *love* talking about my time at the companies, please feel free to reach out with any questions!)
While originally from Alabama, North Carolina has been my home since 2012 and a big piece of my heart long before that. My husband and I moved from Chapel Hill in 2015 to help open the Wilson Center in downtown Wilmington. We reside in Boiling Spring Lakes and are proud to call Brunswick County home. We have a vested interest in the success of theatre arts in our local community. I, personally, am thrilled to create a home at WBHS for students to thrive in the exploration of performance and creative arts and to gain skills that carry them into college and career readiness.
