At eight years old, I started year-around competitive swimming. Competitive swimming taught me that you have to work hard for the things you want, and how to prioritize your time wisely. As a high school student, I know many of you are still navigating your life experiences, but I think the most important first step is to believe in yourself. "Knowledge is power" and I believe all of my students are capable of learning. You can be good at math and I hope to show you that just because it's hard, doesn't mean you're not good at it!
I grew up in Mocksville, NC and graduated from Davie County High School in 2012. After high school, I moved four hours away from my family and friends to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I quickly realized that my passion was teaching math and not becoming an eye doctor or an orthodontist.
I have been teaching in Brunswick County since 2016. This is my first year at North Brunswick, but I have taught at the Early College High School and West Brunswick High School. I have taught Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3 so I know where you're headed or where you've been. I enjoy walking/working out, reading, and eating Mexican food. One of my biggest accomplishment is running my first, and only, half-marathon in February 2020. My husband and I got married in April 2021. We live in Leland with our son, Jackson.
