Welcome to 7th grade science! My name is Mrs. Mintz, and I am so excited to be teaching science this year. It is such an incredible subject that allows us to explore and understand the world around us.

I graduated from NC State University with a degree in middle school education. (Go Pack!!) I also grew up in this area and went to Waccamaw School for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, so this place holds a special place in my heart. My husband is also from Ash and is a shrimp boat captain turned farmer. We have three children who also went to Waccamaw and are out making their own way in the world.

One of my favorite things to do is spend time outdoors and work in my garden. I absolutely love seeing plants grow and learning about the different species. Whenever I get the chance, I love to visit the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

In my previous teacher life I taught math. But I discovered my passion for science and I really enjoy sharing that passion with my students. In our class, we will focus on real-world science and learn about the standards that are important for 7th grade.
