Mrs. Dorris is a native of Swansboro, North Carolina, and later moved to Greenville to pursue her passion for dance at East Carolina University. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Education and began her teaching career at South Brunswick High School in Wilmington, North Carolina.

This year, Mrs. Dorris is honored to return as the coach of the South Dance Team, a role she previously held for 15 years. She is passionate about using dance to foster school spirit, build confidence, and develop discipline, teamwork, and professionalism among her dancers. Her goal is to inspire her team to represent South Brunswick High School with pride while continually challenging each dancer to reach her fullest potential.

Mrs. Dorris currently resides in Leland with her husband, two daughters, and their two Jack Russells.

We are especially excited to announce our first-ever Alumni Dance Team halftime performance at this year’s Homecoming game! Former South Dance Team members dating back to 1999 will return to the court to celebrate the program's history, tradition, and lasting impact.
