I am a Southport native with 26 years of experience in the classroom, I have had the pleasure of teaching all elementary grades except for Kindergarten. My teaching career has taken me through public schools, charter schools, and even an online charter school in three different states, providing me with a diverse and rich background in education. I am so excited to be back in my old elementary school teaching Second Grade!!!

Hi there! This is my 11th year at Southport Elementary.  I moved this year to second grade from kindergarten.I have been married for 3 years and I have 3 kids, Riley, Lucy and Reid. I love the beach and to garden.  Spending time with my family and two dogs, Ranger and Noli, and what I love to do the most!I work to keep my classroom engaging, fun, and a welcoming safe place for all students.I love Southport Elementary!

This is my 8th year at Southport Elementary School, my 10th year in 2nd grade and my 12th year teaching overall. I graduated from East Carolina University where I was a part of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.  In second grade we are still learning to read, but we also make the shift to reading to learn. We are able to take our natural curiosity, ask questions and learn something new.  I LOVE learning new and interesting things! I want my students to love it, too. It is going to be a great year!
