My name is Mike Loutzenheiser and I’m the Varsity Men’s Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at South Brunswick High School.  I was born and raised in Arizona where I attended Payson High School and played basketball at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix before transferring to Arizona State University. I have a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management and Master’s in Special Education from ASU.

I began coaching in the early 1990s as a junior varsity basketball coach and football coach at Sunnyslope (Phoenix) and Payson high schools. My  first varsity coaching job was in 1997 at Phoenix Center for Education. In 2001, I became the head coach of the boys basketball team at my alma mater, Payson High School. While in Payson, we led the Longhorns to the second most victories in school history and I was named 3A East Conference Coach of the Year in 2002-03. Since moving to North Carolina in 2006, I have coached football and/or basketball at Southwestern Randolph, Pinecrest, East Montgomery, Broughton, West Brunswick and Corinth Holders high schools.  I’m currently in my fourth year at SBHS.
