My name is Coach Starling and I am your new Men’s wrestling coach here at South Brunswick High School. I have wrestled ever since the 5th grade for Port City Pirates and wrestled under current Mount Olive University Coach Dan Willis at E.A. Laney High School from 2013-2016. After Graduating college from Appalachian State University I coached at Avery County High School. I was the head middle school coach, assistant varsity coach, and helped start up the women's varsity team. During my time at Avery we won 4 consecutive state championships (1 Dual) (3 Individual) and this past year set the record with most state champions at the NCHSAA tournament with 6. I have also had the pleasure of coaching 4 national high school All-American's, and numerous State Champs/Placers. I am excited to help build a wrestling culture here at South Brunswick High School. 

My name is Coach Verba and I am your new Women's wrestling coach here at South Brunswick High School. I have been involved with wrestling since 2020 when Coach Starling got the job at Avery County High School. I understand the importance of a women's presence in a male dominated sport and that is why I am here. I want to encourage and promote Women's wrestling here in Brunswick County as it is the fastest growing sport in the nation!
