SPIRE is a research-based, structured literacy program designed to help struggling readers, especially those with dyslexia or other reading challenges. It focuses on systematic, explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The program uses a multisensory approach, incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods to ensure that students learn to read and understand text in a comprehensive way. Sounds Sensible is a phonemic awareness program that emphasizes the development of foundational skills necessary for reading and writing. It helps children identify and manipulate sounds in words, which is crucial for decoding and encoding skills. By strengthening these skills, Sounds Sensible supports early literacy development and prepares students for more advanced reading and writing instruction.
