7th Grade Special Education
My name is Mrs. Aleshia Rucker, and I teach 7th Grade Inclusion Math and ELA, as well as Math 180, at Shallotte Middle School. This is my 21st year in education, and I joined the Shallotte Middle School family in December 2025. My husband and I relocated to the area after our youngest child graduated from high school. Our son attends UNC Greensboro, and our daughter attends Appalachian State University.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from Auburn University and continued my education at North Georgia State University, where I earned my Master’s degree in K - 12 Special Education.
I strongly believe that every student can be successful in their own unique way. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching the joy and confidence that comes when my students begin to believe in their own abilities. I am passionate about helping students recognize their strengths, build confidence, and discover that they are capable of achieving more than they may have thought possible.
