The focus of Sixth Grade Social Studies is ancient civilizations. Students will learn the meaning of the terms: "civilization" and "culture." We spend the year studying and comparing and contrasting various ancient civilizations.  While doing so, students will continue to develop skills such as reading and interpreting, writing, listening and speaking.   Ultimately their understanding of our own civilization will also be increased.   

If you would like to have a conference- either in person or by phone - please contact me for an appointment via email (pwhalen@bcswan.net) or class dojo.  During the school day, I normally have planning time from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  If this time doesn't work for you, we can work out another time that is mutually convenient.
