Hello, students and families! My name is Ms. Thatcher, and I am excited to welcome you to a new school year! I am proud to be a Middle Grades English Language Arts teacher, and I look forward to helping students discover the power of reading, writing, and their own voices.

I believe that words have power. A great story can make us laugh, cry, see the world through someone else's eyes, or even change the way we think. In my classroom, students will have opportunities to explore literature, express their ideas, think critically, and discover that their own words matter.

A Little About Me

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family, reading, being creative, and enjoying the beach. I especially love collecting seashells, beautiful rocks, and crystals.

I am also a micro-macramé artist and the creator of my small business, The Macramé Mermaid. I enjoy creating handmade jewelry using colorful cords, crystals, and shells. My love of creativity often finds its way into my classroom, too!

I want you to know that your voice matters. Your ideas, experiences, questions, and perspectives are important. This year, I hope you will challenge yourself, take some chances, discover new stories, and maybe even find a new appreciation for the power of words!
