Hi! My name is Ms. Simcox and I am the 5th grade Reading and Science teacher here at TCES! This will be my 3rd year teaching Reading and my 1st year teaching Science in 5th Grade. I am from Sunset Beach, NC and have lived in Brunswick County for 9 years. I graduated from UNCW with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a concentration in Behavioral Studies. In my free time I love spending time with my friends/family, traveling, and spending time at the beach. I am so pleased to welcome you and your child to fifth grade! I'm truly looking forward to an exciting year filled with engaging learning experiences and meaningful growth. Fifth grade is a wonderful time for students to develop new skills, build friendships, and explore their interests—and I’m thrilled to be a part of that journey. One of my top priorities this year is to build a strong, supportive classroom community where every student feels like they belong. I want each child to know they are respected, appreciated, and an important part of our learning team. I hope you will join me in supporting this vision at home, reinforcing the importance of kindness, curiosity, and responsibility. Together, we can make this a fantastic year!
