I’m an educator and leader with a background that blends business and education. After earning my degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Fayetteville State University in 2003, I began my career in business before following my passion for teaching. I started in Pender County Schools and later joined Brunswick County Schools, where I helped launch the district’s first CTE Paxton Patterson Career Lab pilot program. It's an initiative that gave students hands-on, career-focused experiences. Over the years, I’ve served in many school leadership roles, and was honored to be named Brunswick County Schools Teacher of the Year (2024–2025) and Runner-Up for the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Southeast Regional Teacher of the Year.
Currently, I serve as an Administrative Intern at Town Creek Middle School while continuing to grow as a Pirate Leadership Academy Principal fellow. I’m passionate about supporting teacher wellness, helping students succeed, and leading with empathy. At home, I’ve been happily married to my husband, Odell, for 18 years, and together we’re raising three wonderful children who are thriving in Brunswick County Schools.
