Hello! My name is Sara Melancon and I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself! I have 17 years of teaching experience, with a passion for helping kids develop a love for reading.I have taught both first grade (4 years) and kindergarten (13 years). 

I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have enjoyed every moment in the classroom  In 2014, I earned my National Board Certification, which was a significant milestone in my professional journey. 

I am a proud mom of two wonderful kids, Jack (5 years old) and Norah (2 years old) they inspire me daily to foster curiosity and creativity in my students.

In my teaching, I aim to create a welcoming and engaging environment where every child feels valued and excited to learn. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, finding new coffee shops and exploring new activities together. Here’s to many more years of inspiring young readers!
