I am thrilled to introduce myself as the principal of Virginia Williamson Elementary School. I am honored you have choosen to join our wonderful school community, known for its dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and enriching environment for all students. I am eager to collaborate with each of you as we embark on this exciting journey together.Â

Prior to joining Virginia Williamson Elementary school, Mr. Futrell served as an Assistant Principal at Belville Elementary School in Leland, NC as well as at Neuse River Middle School in Raleigh, NC. Prior to his educational experiences, Mr. Futrell attended East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) and obtained his Masters in School Administration from North Carolina Central University (Go Eagles!). His wife, Ashley, and three children (Luke-5, Annie-4, Lily-0) reside in Brunswick County! As a family, they enjoy time together on the beach, hiking, and all things sports!
Mr. Futrell believes that education is a collaborative effort that involves students, teachers, parents, and the community. His goal is to build strong, meaningful relationships with each of you to ensure that all students receive the best education.Â
