6thth Grade:
Course Description: Exploring Careers and Employment is a course that is rigorous, relevant and is based on state and national content standards. Business and industry representatives reviewed the standards and provided input on the content of this course as it helps to prepare students for high-skill, high wage, or high-demand occupational opportunities. Students will learn how to prepare for interviews, seek employment, complete job applications, resumes and cover letters. To succeed in this class, you must be willing to work hard, either as an individual or a team member. The “hands on” applications and strategies you learn in this class will help prepare you for both your middle school, high school, college or business world experiences.
7th Grade:
Course Description: Coding in Minecraft Beginners is a course that is rigorous, relevant and is based on state and national content standards. The Minecraft computer science kit is specially designed computer science content to address relevant academic standards in a logical, sequential progression. Students will learn, practice, and apply relevant computer science skills and concepts in both unplugged and digital experiences. Minecraft Education motivates learning, improves attendance, and builds agency. Students practice critical thinking and collaboration in creative worlds. Conventional lessons are engaging and interactive with learning experiences.
8th Grade:
Course Description: Coding in Minecraft Intermediate is a course that is rigorous, relevant and is based on state and national content standards. The Minecraft computer science kit is specially designed computer science content to address relevant academic standards in a logical, sequential progression. Students will learn, practice, and apply relevant computer science skills and concepts in both unplugged and digital experiences. Educators use Minecraft Education to engage students in immersive lessons, group projects, build challenges, work in teams and esports programs.
Grades: Grades will be given based on completion and proficiency on all assignments, quizzes, and tests, as well as participation. A 100%-90%, B 89%-80%, C 79%-70%, D 69%-60%, F 59%-50%.
