Reading and Writing: Wit & Wisdom is a high-quality English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum designed to help students become strong readers, thoughtful writers, and deep thinkers. It focuses on building knowledge, vocabulary, and comprehension through rich, engaging texts and meaningful discussions.

Rather than teaching reading and writing skills in isolation, Wit & Wisdom integrates them with content from science, history, art, and culture, giving students a deeper understanding of the world while strengthening literacy skills.

Math: In third grade, students are moving into applying math to solve real-world problems. i-Ready Math supports this through various modes of instruction. Key math areas your child will explore include addition and subtraction within 1,000, multiplication and division facts and strategies, understanding fractions, telling time, measuring and using data, and geometry. 

Phonics: Letterland helps your third grader become a more confident and capable reader, speller, and writer by turning complex phonics rules into something easy to understand and remember. Their learning will include advanced phonics skills, spelling rules and patterns, syllabication strategies, prefixes and suffixes and vocabulary development.

Science/Social Studies: Social Studies topics include local history and government, geography with map skills, and human environment interaction. Science topics include, space and earth science, human body systems, plant biology and ecosystem interactions, and basic physics of matter.
