I grew-up in Blacksburg, VA and earned my BS and MS degrees from Virginia Tech. Go Hokies!! Throughout high school and college, I worked part-time jobs in retail sales, food marketing, women's apparel, and retail management. After graduating from college, I taught high school Marketing classes in Virginia for 15 years. Then, I spent the next 10 years employed various positions in Human Resources, Training & Development, Sales, and Marketing for a large automotive business; Shelor Motor Mile.
In 2012, my family moved to North Carolina when my husband accepted a job in Kinston. I returned to education as a 1/2-time Marketing teacher and 1/2-time Career Development Coordinator at Rosewood High School in Goldsboro.
My husband accepted another position in Wilmington, and we moved once again. I began teaching at South Brunswick High School in February 2019. I've taught classes in Personal Finance, Marketing, Marketing Applications, Hospitality & Tourism, Sales I & II, and Business Essentials. In the past, I've also taught Entrepreneurship I, Fashion Merchandising, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and Marketing Management.
I transitioned to Career Development Coordinator and Special Populations Coordinator in 2023. It is always exciting to assist students in determining and pursuing their future goals. I've been a DECA Advisor for over 25 years and have seen great value in this organization for many students. Go Cougars!
