Coach Johnson moved to Brunswick County in July of 2018. During his 19 years in education he has served in many different capacities. Prior to coming to West Brunswick High School as a Social Studies teacher/Football coach, he was the Digital Learning Specialist at North Brunswick for six years. The previous 11 years in education were all at Avery Middle School in Newland, NC. While at Avery Middle, Coach Johnson taught all grade levels in Social Studies, coached five different sports and served as the Athletic Director for eight years. During his time in Avery County, Donnie was part of the District's 1:1 implementation of Apple products which included I-pads for grades K-5 and MacBooks for grades 6-12. Coach Johnson has coached In his 19 seasons as a football coach, coached Girls laccrose for two season.s Coach Johnson in his 1st year of Girls Flag Football and is the 1st Girls Flag Football Coach at West Brunswick.
