Hi! My name is Kayla Britt, and I am excited to serve as the Student Support Specialist at Shallotte Middle School. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading and my Master's degree in School Administration, both from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. 

As Student Support Specialist, I work alongside students, teachers, families, and school leaders to identify student needs, support the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and Intervention Support Team (IST) processes, monitor progress, and help ensure students receive the appropriate level of support. My goal is to ensure that every student receives the support and resources they need to grow, succeed, and reach their full potential. 

Outside of school, I am happily married to my husband, Alex, who serves in law enforcement, and we are blessed with two beautiful children. Family is incredibly important to me, and I enjoy spending my time outside of work making memories with them. 

I am excited to be part of Brunswick County Schools and look forward to a wonderful year serving the students, families, and staff of Shallotte Middle School!
