Hello and welcome to the new school year! My name is Megan Werbicki and I am the Student Support Specialist. I am so excited for this year and working with our Belville families. Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself.
I was born and raised in New Bern, N.C. I am the oldest of four and I graduated as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow from UNC Wilmington. I love to travel, read, and spend time with my friends and family, my husband, Alex, our four year old son, Owen, and our almost two year old daughter, Lyla.
This is my 13th year at Belville Elementary but my 16th year in education. I taught 9 years in second grade, 2 years in third grade, 4 years as a K-5 reading interventionist, and now I am supporting our students in the MTSS process. I will be scheduling and facilitating IST meetings and working closely with our interventionists to make sure your students are receiving the support they need.
Hi Sharks! My name is Elisha Locklear. I am excited to work as one of the three Belville interventionists. This year, you will find me in the classroom providing reading and math interventions to students, supporting teachers and working with families to meet the needs of our Sharks.
I've lived in North Carolina native and have lived in Leland for 6 years. I’m married to my sweet husband, Garrett, and we have five children ranging from ages 24-9. As a family, we enjoy church activities, camping, museums and spending quality time together. I graduated from UNCW with a K-6 education degree and Western Governors University with a masters in Special Education.
This will be my 20th year in education and my first year as inventionist (6th year at Belville). I’m committed to helping students grow into confident, critical thinkers and lifelong learners. I will work hard to create a positive, supportive learning environment and do everything I can to help your child feel confident, capable, and successful throughout the year.
Hi! My name is Sarah Seagle, and I am so excited to serve our second and third grade students this year as a Reading and Math Interventionist!
I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and I graduated from UNC Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education. This is my 10th year in education, and before becoming an interventionist, I spent eight years as a classroom teacher, primarily teaching second grade.
I love working with students in small groups, helping them build confidence, strengthen their skills, and celebrate their growth along the way. I am especially excited to focus on second and third grade this year and to work closely with our teachers and families to support each student.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our toddler twins, reading, listening to music, and enjoying time with my family.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and growth together!
Hi Sharks! My name is Janell Spencer. I am excited to work as one of the three Belville Interventionists. This year, you will find me in the classroom providing reading and math interventions to students, supporting teachers and working with families to meet the needs of our Sharks.
I've lived in North Carolina for the past 22 years, but I still enjoy visiting my hometown in Utah whenever I get the chance to spend time with family. I’m married to my hardworking husband, Doug, and we have three wonderful sons, three amazing daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren. As a family, we enjoy the beach, sailing, and spending quality time together.
This will be my 18th year in education and my first year as inventionist. I’m committed to helping students grow into confident, critical thinkers and lifelong learners.
