Ms. Patten

Welcome to second grade at Belville.  I am so excited to start this year.  My name is Laura Patten and I am so excited to continue this upcoming school year as a shark! I grew up in the suburbs of New York City. After high school I went to Manhattan College in the Bronx. After graduating, I volunteered for 1 year in Kansas City, Missouri  teaching their reading and after school program. After the year, I went back to school to obtain my master's in reading. In 2021, I received National Board Certification in Literacy. I currently live in Castle Hayne with my partner Mike, daughter Jolinn, and dogs Ozzie and Gus.  My son is currently in law school at Campbell Law. I love triathlons, coffee, boston cream doughnuts, and painting.  I am looking forward to continuing my teaching journey as a shark!
