I am a firm believer in the quote to the left! Inside the Music Room your child will find a safe place to make mistakes and grow individually.
Children should have the opportunity to move, sing, and play in a way that promotes learning and ties in other aspects in their life. I believe music helps to do just that very thing!
I have been teaching music since 2012. I LOVE what I do! I continue to look for new ideas to bring into the classroom to help students learn.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communication/Marketing from Columbus State University with a minor in music. I have a Master's in Arts and Teaching from Piedmont College with a focus in Music Education. In 2015 I began the process of becoming certified in the Orff Schulwerk Approach. I received my certification in 2017. Since that time I been invited to be the Clinician in training other Music Educators in surrounding counties in Georgia and I am Mentor to other teachers who wish to receive additional training.
My primary instrument is Cello. I have studied it since 1992. I love performing and teaching others to master their craft. I studied under the direction of Dr. Richard Bell and Mr. Andres Gaskins. I have taught a private studio where I taught others the love of the cello. I have also studied and performed voice since 1993 under the direction of Dr. Martha Shaw, founder and director of the world renowned Spivey Hall Children's Choir.
I have been married for 10 years. I have a son, daughter and one furry addition, Dunkin.
