Your child will always have homework unless other information is shared.
This homework consists of 2 pages (front and back) with questions for Math, Science and ELA.
This past Friday, I sent Weekly Work #1. Pages are due as follows:
Page 1 due on Monday
Page 2 due on Tuesday
Page 3 due on Wednesday
Page 4 due on Thursday
This homework will be checked and discussed, and students are allowed to ask questions to the teacher if they come across a question they might find difficult.
Please have your child do the best they can on the HW as this is usually a review of things they know and/or the newer content we will cover that week. They should be able to complete the work independently or with minimal guidance. Students are also encouraged to bring their notebooks home if they need to.
Here are some ways you can volunteer and contribute to our school events over the next month!

The first unit of the year is called "Narrativas Personales", which is all about how we can learn the many ways of telling our own personal stories.
Assessments: This week the students will have a graded activity that they have already started. This will be due on Wednesday.
Matemáticas
For the first Unit of the year, we will focus on everything regarding Volume:
Learning Goal: Understand volume as an attribute of solid figures. Relate volume to multiplication and addition by packing rectangular prisms with unit cubes and applying formulas
As the learning goal mentions, this Unit will have a strong component of Multiplication. For this, it is important to always practice Multiplication Facts at home.
Assessments: This Friday the students will have a short quiz (7 questions) related to volume of composite rectangular prisms.
Science
This year, we will start with the Unit of Matter and its changes:
Learning goal: Understand the interactions of matter and energy and the changes that occur.
Carry out investigations to compare the weight of objects before and after interactions.
Carry out investigations to explain whether the mixing of two or more substances results in new substances.
Assessments: This Thursday, students will have a short quiz on States of Matter, and Physical and Chemical changes.
Social Studies
This year, I have decided to start talking abou the Rapa Nui people, since it will be part of what they will do for their cultural event.
Assessment: This Tuesday the students will have to hand in their work about Rapa Nui society in Chile.
