Tonya Burleson

 My name is Tonya Burleson, I have been teaching at Johnston Elementary since 2021 but I I have been an employee with Buncombe County Schools since 2014.

I am an Asheville native (rare, I know) and I graduated from Erwin High School. I am married to my best friend and we have one son (Izzy) and two dogs (Bailey and Broly). As a family we love hiking, reading books and watching a good movie. 

I have always had a passion to work with children and it is the only job I have ever had that continues to fill my cup. In our classroom we focus on growing knowledge, problem solving skills, our brains and most importantly our confidence.
