Game one - Beat Enka 9-0. We got four goals from Izzy and Jess and one from Lila. Lucy and Brooke each played well. Ainsley and Gia each played a myriad of positions. Journee made one terrific save.
Game two - Beat Cane Creek 4-1. Izzy didn't start but she still netted a hat trick. Lila scored on a great link up with 4 players involved. Jess, Gia and Kaia were standouts for their intensity and quality of play.
Game three - Tied North Buncombe 1-1. We dominated possession but just weren't clinical enough in the final third. Jess got our lone goal (and played a great game).
Game four - Beat Owen 7-0. Izzy was back and it gave the team a boost. She scored twice and Jess added four of her own. Gia recorded her first goal and Ireland made some big saves to secure the shutout. We were able to move some players around and try some different things out. We discovered that Kate can really play defense. Divya had a good game as well.
Game five - Beat Reynolds 7-3. Izzy was a force (scored 5). Brooke provided 3 assists. Rearranged the lineup again as Gia tried attacking mid. Defensively we let pace get in behind up and the shake-ups in terms of shape hurt us as well.
Game six - Beat Asheville 3-1. The game started half an hour late which really gave us a moment to strengthen our minds. We were ready at the jump. Lila netted not one, but two headers. We dominated the first half and were more equal in the second half. Gia played in the back which helped solidify us defensively (along with Kaden and Kaia). It is affirmed that Ainsley is our holding mid - she was outstanding today.
Game seven - Beat Erwin 9-0. Avery got two goals. Kaden scored on a set piece. As a whole we were outstanding today. It all started when yours truly had to drive a bus to Erwin to pick up the Erwin team and then I drove them back to Erwin when the game ended.
Game eight - Beat Enka 3-0. As expected Enka was much improved over the last game. We did dominate possession but struggled in the final third. We did learn that Kaia is an effective winger. She helped out as Brooke's knee was bothering her and Kaia ran the wing well.
Game nine- Beat Cane Creek 6 -1. We were hot early scoring three goals in the first ten minutes. Kaia got her first of the season. Jess had a beauty from distance. It was 5 nothing before we allowed the goal.
Game ten - Beat North Buncombe 5 -1. Revenge game and it felt like it. Izzy scored one of the weirdest goals I have seen (the goalie never saw it go in). Leighton scored her first of the year off her knee. Great way to start Spring Break.
