Shelly Swann

I've been in education over 25 years. I first started my educational journey back in 1995 where I earned my  Associates in Applied Science degree in Early Childhood from A-B Tech. Later, I became a teacher assistant at Bald Creek Elementary in Yancey County. I fell in love with teaching and decided to go back to college and earn my teaching degree. I attended Mars Hill College at night and worked during the day. My degree was hard earned but it was well worth it! In December of 2000, I graduated with my K-6 certification and completed my pursuit to become a classroom teacher. Being in the classroom is what I enjoy the most-I LOVE teaching! Being a teacher is what I was created to do!

I grew up in Burnsville and have resided in the Bald Creek Community for the last 23 years with my husband and three teenage children.

I love being a Black Hawk and  feel very blessed to be a part of Weaverville Elementary.
