Mrs. Jimenez visiting family in Guatemala
I am thrilled to work at WBES as an ESL (English As A Second Language) teacher! I am excited to get to know my students and to support them as multilingual learners! I have been a teacher in Buncombe and Madison counties since 2008. During that time, I have taught Spanish, Art, Title 1 Literacy, and ESL classes.
I hold a B.A. degree in Art Education and Spanish Language from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and a M.A.T. degree from Western Carolina University. My areas of NC educator licensure are K-12 Art, Spanish, and ESL.
I strive to make students in my classroom feel happy, safe, and excited about learning. I plan activities that target the 4 important modes of communication: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I incorporate a variety of teaching strategies in order to meet the needs of every student.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
On a personal note:
My family is very special to me! I have a wonderful husband and two amazing sons. We have a dog (a Beagle) named Brisa. At home, we speak English and Spanish. I enjoy reading, doing art projects, and playing the guitar.
