Shelly G. Burlew

Hey there- I’m from a small, coastal town near Myrtle Beach, SC.

I moved to Asheville in 1998.

I started as a School Counselor in 2001 at Eastfield Elementary in Marion, NC.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Francis Marion University.

I received a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Webster University, but decided I wanted to work with children in a public school setting, so I went back to school at Western Carolina University to complete the School Counselor requirements.

My goal is to find and use students' strengths to help them find success and happiness with themselves, at school and home, with their friends, and in their community.
