Welcome to Art!

I moved from Nashville, Tennessee, to Asheville in 2025, when I began teaching at Koontz . I earned my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts at Middle Tennessee State University and my master’s degree in the Art of Teaching at Austin Peay State University.

 I believe the art room should be a place where students feel encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and discover their own unique artistic voices. My goal is to help every student build confidence, enjoy the creative process, and see themselves as capable artists. 

When I'm not at school I enjoy baking, sewing, gardening, and reading with or near my fun family.
