Phyllis Wilson

I’m Phyllis Wilson and I am one of two special education teachers at Weaverville Elementary School. I began my teaching career in 1985 as a teacher of severely handicapped students in a little county in middle PA. I received a Bachelors degree in special education from Millersville University and then a Masters degree in Elementary Education ten years later from Temple University. I taught special education classes for 17 years at a middle school in Philadelphia city schools. It was challenging work, but I loved it! In 2002, my husband and I relocated to the mountains of western Carolina after falling in love with the area during a vacation trip. I began my teaching career in NC at Weaverville Elementary in August of 2002 and have had the pleasure of teaching here since then. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband Bill and a family of “fur babies” in our home in Tennessee.

I’m looking forward to working with you and your child this school year. My goal each year is to help my students grow and reach their fullest potential.
