Phil Justen

I have been an ELA educator since 2007. Over that time I have taught at BC Middle, BC Early College, abroad in Cali, Colombia. Additionally I have served Buncombe County as an intructional coach, and I am thrilled to be teaching ELA once again at BCEC. 

I recieved a Masters in English Education in 2013 from Western Carolina University, and I am currently Nationally Board Certified. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife (former BCS teacher) and daughter (current BCS student) enjoying the outdoors.

I am committed to delivering the best, most individualized ELA instruction as possible to provide my students with the tools, mindsets, and skillsets to be wildly successful in school and beyond. It is my honor to serve our community as a public school educator.
