Shawn Gibbs

The “best overall athlete to play running back” at Owen according to long time Head Football Coach Kenny Ford. Gibbs rushed for 4655 yards during his time at Owen, earning him WNC Player of the Year as a Senior. Gibbs would go on to play at the collegiate level at North Carolina Central University.

Gibbs has had an extensive coaching career, starting at NC Central and then moving through the ranks at Grambling State University, and N.C. A&T State University before becoming the head coach at Fort Valley State University. He is now the Head Coach at North Carolina A&T State University.
