The Library Media Assistant elective is a great opportunity for rising juniors and seniors to learn the ins and outs of running a high school media center. This class covers the basics of daily media center operations like shelving, cleaning, and circulation, to more in-depth collaborations that involve planning library programs, curating our collection of books, creating engaging displays, and promoting select titles and resources.
This elective is ideal for students who:
love being in the library and discussing endless book-related topics,
are proactive and enjoy communicating with students and teachers,
are capable of working independently and as part of a team
are comfortable asking questions, sharing opinions, and accepting feedback
All courses offered in NC are required to include academic work, and relevant assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. A copy of the syllabus is posted below.
