Library Media Science

Three things you really need to know when deciding to sign up to work in the media center.

1.  All courses in NC are required to have academic work, so you will have work that feels like school work.  Here’s some of what you will learn of an academic nature:

• Marketing

• Project Design and Implementation

• Research

• Digital Learning

• Reading and the benefits of reading

• The philosophy of librarianship

2. You will be expected to “assist” everyday with different tasks to build a positive culture in our school and in our media center.  This will include  - 

• Making displays - bulletin boards, book displays, shelf displays, etc.

• Cleaning and maintaining the organization of the library

• Creating materials for teachers to use in their classrooms or in the library

• Delivering items to teachers

• Helping with basic technology questions

• Whatever you’re asked to do to make the school or library a great space

  3) Ours is a Customer Service / Hospitality profession. You will need to work with people

and be happy doing so.  We will show you how to use equipment in the media center

and you will be expected to show others.
