About Ms. Romanello:

Hello!

I teach English Language Learners ("ESL Teacher"). This is my third year here at VSMS, and I LOVE being a teacher and living in Asheville! I spent my childhood in Flint, Michigan, and went to college and started a family in Ohio. I began teaching in 2006, but took 8 years off to stay home with my kids. During that time, I was a nanny and started a small business making and selling kids' clothes made with vintage materials...mostly styles from the 70's and 80's. That was a lot of fun, but I am SO excited to be teaching full time again! I live with my husband, two kids who go to Oakley Elementary and Reynold's Middle, a cat and a "covid" puppy!

Learning about the world is a passion of mine, so I really enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds and hope that they will share their language and traditions with me. My goal is to help students feel confident using the English Language (along with their first language) so that they can grow as active learners and community members. I believe my students have an important story to tell!
