I became an educator while living in the Bronx, New York, where I was born and raised. During my school breaks, I would vacation here in the mountains, where I eventually found home in 2011.
I am a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and briefly worked with the New York City Police Department Cadet Corp. I am currently a Volunteer Police Officer with a local Police Department and an EMT with a Local Fire Department. After receiving my BS degree in Security Management, I went on to receive my MSed at Lehman College. I also participated in Lucy Calkin’s Columbia University’s Teachers’ Reading and Writing Project in NYC for 4 years. Collectively I have taught 1st - 5th grades. I have also contracted as an Adjunct Reading Specialist at Lehman College in NYC for grades 7-12.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my adult children, playing with my big old pups, cooking, and visiting new places. I am looking forward to a fun filled year here at Fairview Elementary!
