Ms. Amy Vaughn

Hi! I am a long-time educator in Buncombe County Schools. I began teaching in 1997 and spent 24 years as a classroom teacher at Leicester Elementary, in 5th grade, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. I made an exciting change in 2021 to work with Academically Intellectually Gifted (AIG) students at Erwin Middle and Johnston Elementary Schools.

I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Master's degree from Western Carolina University. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher.

Outside of school, I enjoy playing soccer, hanging out with my three dogs,

and practicing martial arts. I hold a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo!
