Course Basics

Course Description

Civics & Economics is a semester-long course that provides a framework for understanding the basic tenets of American democracy, as well as practices of our government and politics. We will also explore macro and micro economics and personal finance. Together we will analyze our founding documents and identify important themes present throughout American Government in order to become responsible and effective citizens. Civics & Economics counts as one social studies credit towards graduation. Daily lessons will consist of short lectures, video clips, discussion, debate, cooperative learning, as well as individual and group research.
