American History I is a semester-long course that traces the political, social, cultural and economic developments of American history from Pre-Columbian communities to the rebuilding of our nation after the Civil War. Together we will analyze historical events and identify important themes present throughout the history of America. American History I counts as one social studies credit towards graduation. Daily lessons will consist of short lectures, video clips, discussion, debate, cooperative learning, as well as individual and group research.
