Welcome!
I am excited to be part of your student’s learning journey. I believe every student can learn and succeed, and I enjoy helping students build confidence, develop skills, and discover their strengths. Middle school is an important time of growth, and I love encouraging students as they learn both academically and personally.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and my Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Mars Hill University. As a Navy Brat, I had the opportunity to live in many places growing up, but I consider myself a Virginia native.
I moved to Asheville in 2014. After many years serving as support staff at Reynolds Middle School and Buncombe County Schools Central Office, I decided to move into the classroom because I truly love working with middle school students and helping them learn and grow.
I have two grown sons, and my sweet husband and I are enjoying life as empty nesters, which allows me to devote extra time and energy to supporting my students.
The primary learning platforms used in class are Google Classroom, CommonLit, and Newsela.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I value communication and look forward to partnering with families to support student success.
