English teacher and yearbook adviser.
I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia, earned my degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, and have been teaching in North Carolina since 1996.
My family and I are very happy to now be living in Asheville.
I have always loved learning new things, and I love to solve problems and fix things. There are a lot of problems in the world that I can't fix all by myself, but it is really satisfying when, often after much frustration, I can look at something and say, "I fixed that." Teaching isn't quite like that, but it feels amazing when I see a student get excited about their learning.
I use CANVAS for my assignments, directions, grades, announcements, and weekly agendas. Everything, really.
I believe that every human being deserves respect because they are a human being. Full stop.
