Hello! Welcome to my classroom!
I have been teaching 5th grade at Black Mountain Elementary School since 2015. I have also previously taught 3rd grade in BCS. I grew up in Buncombe County and graduated from Asheville High School before completing my degree at Western Carolina University. Teaching is a second career for me. Everyone always told me I should be a teacher...it just took me a while to realize it myself. :-)
In my classroom, I work to prepare students for middle school and beyond. We learn how to be good students and citizens, to respect ourselves and others, and learn to use technology in school and our future careers! I am so happy to spend time in the classroom with my students every day and to be a part of their success.
