Mrs. Aimee Gaston

Hello!

My name is Mrs. Gaston and I am thrilled to be your kindergarten teacher! I cannot wait to learn all about you. Let me tell you a few things about me. I started teaching in 2000.  Time flies when you are having fun!! Although I have experience as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, much of my career, the last 15 years, have been spent as a kindergarten teacher at Hominy Valley Elementary. Kindergarten is an action-packed year (the best year ever!), full of learning, fun, and memory-making experiences and I can't wait to share it with you.  My assistant, Mrs. Judd, and I look forward to interacting with your child this year and fostering an excitement about learning!

I grew up in Candler. My husband and 2 adult sons  are proud to be Enka Jets! It is a great honor and privilege to teach in the same community that guided me through my own educational journey. I attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my K-6 Certification. I have completed my National Board Certification. 

In 2023, I received The Rotary Club of Asheville's inaugural Teacher of Excellence Award.
