A little about me:
I joined the U.S. Coast Guard right out of high school,, I then spent years at sea in the world's most dynamic environments. I’m now retired 20 year veteran. I specialized in piloting ships and was responsible for search & rescue, law enforcement and maintaining safe shipping in coastal waterways. I also spent the past 5 years as a mechanical engineer for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. There I worked on research ships around the world with the most talented scientists, deploying autonomous drones and weather monitoring equipment.
I have a great passion for Social Studies and how the past shapes our future. I started here as an interim 8th grade Math teacher at the beginning of 2025. I love being a teacher and the impact that I can have on future generations, as cliche as that sounds. The interaction and feeling of effecting change or being a role model are of the utmost importance.
