Missy Smart

Welcome to the Legendary team! My name is Mrs. Missy Smart. I teach 8th Grade Math and High School Math 1. My fellow team members are Mrs. Tiffany Wooten (English/Language Arts), Ms. Allison Singleton (Science), and Mr. Joshua Hughes (Social Studies).

I began teaching in 1995 after graduating from Western Carolina University. Since 2006, I have been here at North Buncombe Middle School. I am a product of Buncombe County Schools, graduating from Enka High School. My husband and I have called this wonderful community home for many years where we have raised our three children.

From a young age, I loved math and pretended to be a schoolteacher. As a teenager, I worked with kids at my afterschool job. I enjoy both so much, my career choice became obvious. I have seen a lot of change in all these years, from chalkboards to whiteboards to Smartboards. Teaching is both challenging and rewarding, and I have never regretted a minute of it.
