Melodie Barger

Welcome! I am excited to work with your child this year. I have been teaching third and fourth grade at Avery's Creek Elementary since August, 2000. Teaching elementary children is a calling and my passion, each child is special and each day an adventure!

I have lived in the Asheville area most of my life, attending Valley Springs Middle and TC Roberson High. I am proud to have attended UNC-Asheville as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, earning a Bachelor's degree in History and certification in K-6 Education. I continued my education with National Board Certification and a Master's Degree in Instructional Design.

If you need to speak with me about your child, I check email and Class Dojo messages regularly throughout the day. You may also call the school and I can return your call at the end of the school day.
