I'm excited to be serving as the Media Coordinator at Oakley Elementary!

I started teaching in South Texas and completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas. My spouse and I have been teaching in Western North Carolina since 2001 and we have raised our two daughters here.

I am a licensed Reading Specialist and have my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy. In 2021, I returned to graduate school at Appalachian State University for a Master's in Library Science.

I'm thrilled to bring my passion for teaching reading into the library! I love working with young people and feel lucky to be part of the Oakley community.
