Mary Beth Garrou, Kindergarten Teacher

Hello! I have been teaching at Glen Arden since 2005. I have high expectations for each student that is a part of our learning community. I strive to create a classroom environment that allows students to learn, grow, and discover their strengths. In our classroom, I hope students learn to do their best, be responsible, and take care of each other.

I grew up in the Swannanoa Valley, and am a proud product of Buncombe County Schools. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a degree in Literature. I now live in McDowell County with my husband, daughter, and our 4 German Shorthair Pointers. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling.
