I was born and raised in Asheville, attended Enka High School, and graduated in 1991. After high school, I earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from North Carolina State University. Since entering the education profession in 1996, I've been a secondary social studies teacher and athletic coach. Currently I teach Civics and coach the wrestling and cross country teams at Enka High. My wife Esther and I live in Asheville and have three boys: Levi, Greyson, and Asa.
